Red Wall Gallery

Republic Bar & Café, 299 Elizabeth Street, North Hobart, Tasmania.

Gallery Hours: open during Republic Bar & Café Hours, Monday to Sunday.

Red Wall Gallery is situated within Hobarts most popular live music venue, The Republic Bar & Cafe.

The Republic Bar and Cafe has actively supported the arts in Tasmania by regularly exhibiting art works since the venue opened in 1997.

During this time, due to the successful local artists that have exhibited in the Gallery, the Republic Bar and Cafe has gained attention from the media and international artists as an exciting place to exhibit and view art work.

The major exhibition wall of the gallery is deep red in colour which brings a very particular warmth to the art work. Art shown at the Red Wall Gallery becomes a part of the everyday experience of people - we eat, drink, laugh, kiss, philosophise and argue around the work. People spend time with the exhibitions shown at Red Wall Gallery - and through this interaction the artwork can reveal itself in a way that is different to a traditional white cube space.

The Red Wall Gallery is directed by a two local artists Nicole O'Loughlin and Rory Dick.

Please register in the menu to the left to leave any comments and feedback on the exhibitions and to become part of the Red Wall Gallery mailing list.
